Picospot is a treatment method that destroys the melanin pigment that causes age spots and freckles by irradiating laser light at picoseconds (one trillionth of a second), which is even shorter than the conventional nanosecond laser (one billionth of a second). Picospot treatment is suitable for removing relatively large age spots with clear borders, tattoos, and permanent makeup. The equipment used by Bianca Clinic for Pico Spot treatment is PICOSURE®, developed by Cynosure, a company with a high market share in medical lasers. Until now, standard medical lasers have irradiated in nanoseconds (10 billionth of a second), but Picosure irradiates laser light instantaneously in picoseconds (1 trillionth of a second), which is 1/1000 of a second shorter. The shorter irradiation time reduces heat damage to the skin and reduces the burden on the skin.
Melanin pigments pulverized by laser irradiation become waste products and are absorbed into the body. The finer the pulverized pigments are, the easier they are absorbed by the body, so the key is how small they can be crushed. ■Progression after pico spot treatment
Before starting treatment, it is important to understand the process by which age spots and freckles will fade after Pico Spot treatment.
Immediately after the pico spot treatment, the irradiated area may be red and swollen, similar to a mild burn. The redness and swelling will subside and turn black within a few days to a week after the treatment, and a thin scab will form. If you try to peel off the scab forcefully, it may lead to the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation later, so it is important not to touch it as much as possible. The scab will begin to peel off naturally 1 to 1 weeks after the treatment, and new skin will appear.
Even after the scabs have fallen off, try to avoid irritation as much as possible and be sure to take measures against UV rays. One to two months after the treatment, you will be able to see the effects of the treatment, but in some cases, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may occur. Hyperpigmentation varies from person to person, ranging from faint and mild to darker than before treatment, but will become less noticeable over time.

Pico Spot is also a suitable treatment for removing tattoos and permanent makeup.
