BIANCA CLINIC's unique initiatives

attempt

Minimize damage to the skin and pinpoint removal of moles and warts

We use a CO2 laser to remove moles and warts. The benefits are that there is less bleeding than with incision, scars are less noticeable after treatment compared to methods using an electric scalpel, and there is less pain and downtime. At BIANCA CLINIC, we check the type of mole or wart and suggest a treatment method that is best suited to each patient. In addition to removing moles and warts, we can also remove blemishes (raised blemishes) with the CO2 laser.

Warts can sometimes look like whiteheads, and some people treat them incorrectly. There have also been cases where small pimples that the patient did not even notice were found during examination. The condition of warts and moles varies from person to person, so it is important to provide treatment that is tailored to each individual. At our clinic, treatment is handled by doctors with many cases of mole and wart treatment. We also offer an all-you-can-remove menu, so it is possible to remove many areas within a fixed price range.

Characteristics

What is CO2 laser (mole and wart removal)?

CO2 laser (mole and wart removal) is a procedure that uses a device called a CO2 laser (carbon dioxide laser) to remove moles and warts by laser irradiation.

The CO2 laser reacts to the moisture in the cells of the irradiated area and generates heat energy. This principle is used in mole and wart removal treatments. By pinpointing and irradiating the raised mole or wart, which has a high moisture content, the moisture inside the mole or wart evaporates, removing the tissue that forms the mole or wart. The area where the mole or wart was located will have new skin formed through metabolism, and will blend in with the surrounding skin and become less noticeable.

Treatment that reduces damage to the skin with pinpoint irradiation

CO2 lasers allow pinpoint irradiation of moles and warts. This minimizes the effects of heat, allowing treatment with minimal damage to normal skin tissue around the irradiated area. The vaporization effect of the laser only affects the surface of the skin, and does not penetrate deep into the skin. In addition, blood vessels around the laser irradiated area harden due to thermal coagulation, resulting in less bleeding than incision using a scalpel.

CO2 laser treatment uses local anesthesia, but some people choose not to use anesthesia if the mole or wart is small (one or two), as the treatment takes only a few seconds. Since there is little pain after the treatment, this treatment is also recommended for those who are removing moles or warts for the first time.

Minimal downtime and no noticeable scars

The advantage of CO2 laser treatment is that it has less downtime and leaves less scars than mole and wart removal using an electric scalpel. However, the length and extent of downtime varies depending on the severity of the mole or wart. For example, small warts will heal and the redness will subside within a few days, but moles will remain red for about 1 to 3 months even after the scab falls off. If pigment remains, additional treatments may be required.

At Bianca Clinic, we also focus on minimizing the downtime associated with mole removal. After diagnosing the affected area, we focus on pinpointing the mole or wart without applying excessive heat.

Advice from Doctor BIANCA

Advice

Providing customized treatment for patients

At Bianca Clinic, we provide customized treatments for each patient. The postoperative course and downtime will vary depending on the condition of the patient's skin at the time of the procedure. Of course, it will also depend on the doctor's method of irradiation and the assessment of the condition of the affected area. For this reason, Bianca Clinic has introduced dermoscopy to observe moles and warts, and skin diagnosis using the high-performance skin diagnostic device "VISIA". Dr. Miyuki Iwama, a specialist of the Japanese Dermatological Association and our cosmetic dermatology instructor, will thoroughly diagnose the suitability of the treatment and propose the best treatment.

Uses "NEW REZAQ" to reduce skin damage

When the light with a wavelength of 2 nm (10600 μm) emitted from the CO10.6 laser is absorbed by the moisture inside the mole or wart, it generates high-temperature heat energy. The temperature of the affected area rises to several hundred degrees in an instant, evaporating the moisture. This principle allows moles and warts to be removed.

Bianca Clinic uses the "NEW Lezac" CO2 laser device, which is approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. It is characterized by the fact that there is little bleeding during the treatment and pinpoint irradiation can be performed with minimal damage to the surrounding skin. The scars are also not noticeable, so you can experience a beautiful finish.

Progress after mole/wart removal

After mole or wart removal with a CO2 laser, the following process will occur: However, the process and doctor's response may vary depending on the condition of the affected area.

[After treatment on the day]
Immediately after irradiation, apply ointment to the affected area and protect it with tape. The affected area may feel hot and red. Be careful not to remove the tape for about two weeks. Your doctor will tell you when to remove the tape. If there is a little bleeding, gently press it with gauze.

[From the day after treatment to around the 10th day]
Immediately after the treatment, the area where the mole or wart was removed will be sunken, but it will gradually become raised. Even if a scab forms, please do not forcefully peel it off.

[From the second week onwards]
After the tape is removed, be sure to apply sunscreen to the affected area. The skin surface of the irradiated area will turn a light pink color and may be slightly sunken, but this will gradually become less noticeable. Even if pigmentation is observed, it will usually improve within six months of surgery. The scars from the irradiation will also be almost unnoticeable by this time.

02 Doctor's examination/counseling

A doctor will examine the condition of the mole or wart. Using a dermoscopy or VISIA, the doctor will thoroughly check the condition of the affected area and your skin. During the consultation, please feel free to ask any questions you may have about the CO2 laser, such as the cost of treatment. The details of the treatment will be explained, and treatment will begin once you have given your consent.

03 Local anesthesia and treatment

We administer local anesthesia and begin the treatment. We irradiate the mole or wart with the laser. After the treatment, we apply ointment to the affected area or protect it with tape.
