Scar Revision Surgery (Self-Pay)

- Basic surgery fee (simple excision only: ¥22,000 or scar revision involving Z-plasty or W-plasty with local flaps: ¥110,000) + scar (length + width in millimeters) × ¥5,500
[Risks] - Swelling, bruising, infection, pigmentation, tightness, contracture of surrounding tissues, unevenness, asymmetry, scarring (dog ears, hypertrophic scars, keloids), etc.
[Revision Methods]
- Z-Plasty: This technique changes a vertical scar near the outer corner of the eye to a horizontal direction, re-suturing the upper and lower parts of the scar to create a rounder cheek appearance.
- Post-Operative Care: Only topical medication and taping are required.
[Post-Operative Course]
- After 2 months: Pigmentation becomes noticeable.
- After 6 months: Redness and pigmentation settle down.
- Z-plasty is commonly used in plastic surgery to divide long scars, making them less noticeable. It minimizes scarring, aligns the scar with natural wrinkles, and eliminates unevenness to reduce visibility. Post-operative care is also essential.
