Preserving Youth in a Cell Bank: What is Dermal Fibroblast Therapy?
A dual-specialty doctor with a background in plastic surgery, bridging cosmetic surgery and ophthalmology. At the university hospital, he performed numerous high-difficulty cases, primarily focusing on eye and facial bone surgeries, cultivating precise techniques grounded in anatomy. He prioritizes achieving both aesthetic beauty and functional safety, offering customized treatments around the eyes that incorporate ophthalmological expertise. He actively utilizes not only incisional surgery but also non-invasive procedures like hyaluronic acid injections. By carefully assessing each individual's condition and unique appeal, he provides bespoke treatments that guide patients toward naturally harmonious, well-defined eyes.
Hello, I'm Ryutaro Natsume, an image designer and cosmetic surgeon.

For loss of skin firmness and fine lines, mechanical treatments or skin-rejuvenating injections stimulate fibroblasts, promoting the production of collagen and elastin within the dermis.
A treatment that involves injecting the fibroblasts themselves, which produce collagen and elastin, is called ”Dermal Fibroblast Therapy”.
A high number of dermal fibroblasts helps maintain firm, hydrated skin. However, it is said that after age 50, their number rapidly decreases to about one-third.

Collection/Injection Method

Dermal tissue is harvested from behind the ear, and the dermal fibroblasts within it are cultured at a specialized cell culture center to proliferate to 40 to 100 million cells.
The reason for taking samples from behind the ear is that the skin in this area is less susceptible to damage from UV rays and friction, and shows fewer signs of aging compared to other parts of the body.
First session: Using ultra-fine needles, we create small blisters within the dermis of the face and neck while injecting. This is done using the same technique as the popular Rejuran injections.
This procedure is performed between 5 weeks and 3 months after the skin sampling date.
Second session: We recommend receiving this within approximately two weeks of the first transplant. Performing the second transplant within a short period increases the skin cell engraftment rate.
Subsequent sessions: Transplantation to areas of concern can be performed at your convenience, such as 1 to 2 years later.
Cryopreserved skin cells can be stored semi-permanently at specialized facilities. By harvesting and multiplying your own skin cells while young, you can receive transplants of these youthful cells for years or even decades to come.

Summary
Dermal fibroblast therapy is a form of regenerative medicine that replenishes skin losing its firmness with the patient's own activated skin cells, aiming to restore the skin to its naturally healthy state.
The activity of skin cells that produce collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid can help improve wrinkles and sagging, restoring firmness and elasticity to combat signs of aging.
By continuing regular injections, it is possible to slow the progression of aging compared to skin that receives no treatment.
It is gaining attention as a new skincare treatment option that addresses future skin aging and helps maintain a youthful appearance.
