Summer-Induced Dark Spots! Explaining Improvement Methods

A dual-specialty doctor with a background in plastic surgery, bridging cosmetic surgery and ophthalmology. At the university hospital, he performed numerous high-difficulty cases, primarily focusing on eye and facial bone surgeries, cultivating precise techniques grounded in anatomy. He prioritizes achieving both aesthetic beauty and functional safety, offering customized treatments around the eyes that incorporate ophthalmological expertise. He actively utilizes not only incisional surgery but also non-invasive procedures like hyaluronic acid injections. By carefully assessing each individual's condition and unique appeal, he provides bespoke treatments that guide patients toward naturally harmonious, well-defined eyes.

Hello, I'm Ryutaro Natsume, an image designer and cosmetic surgeon.

Ultraviolet rays peak around July, making existing dark spots more likely to become darker.

Ultraviolet rays not only directly damage cellular DNA and collagen, but also generate reactive oxygen species. These reactive oxygen species further accelerate photoaging.

Melanin protects us from those ultraviolet rays. The darkening of skin when sunburned is one type of biological defense reaction.

However, when melanin production becomes excessively high in certain areas, it can worsen age spots (liver spots) and freckles (ephelides). Additionally, chronic skin inflammation can significantly exacerbate melasma.

In the early stages of melasma, patients often do not recognize it as melasma themselves.

As autumn arrives and UV levels decrease, even darkened spots gradually fade away through skin turnover, naturally restoring your skin to its original state.

However, if the disruption in skin turnover and melanin production continues unchecked, it won't heal easily.

Since natural healing takes time, let's turn to cosmetic medicine for help!

Improvement Methods

If it's within the golden 72-hour window right after sunburn, start with this!

High-Concentration Vitamin C IV Drip

Melanin production suppression effect, improvement of inflammation caused by active oxygen through antioxidant action + direct reduction effect that converts black melanin to brown melanin

to maintain skin tone as much as possible.

◯ 72 hours after sunburn

If inflammation is still present, Mesona J is used to directly introduce tranexamic acid, vitamin C derivatives, and other agents subcutaneously to calm the inflammation.

Treatment varies depending on the cause.

In the case of age spots (liver spots) or freckles (ephelides)

Since melanin has accumulated, it is important to promote skin turnover to help expel it.

Picospot treatment is most effective for destroying and expelling melanin, but caution is required.

We recommend thorough sun protection for three months prior to laser treatment, as pigmentation may appear more pronounced immediately after sun exposure.

On top of that

Navision DR TA White Lotion

Using the product for one month prior to laser treatment and for six months afterward helps prevent pigmentation.

For freckles, treatment is often required about three times. Please allow six months between Pico Spot treatments.

In the case of melasma

It is caused by chronic inflammation of the skin.

Treatment focuses on three pillars: calming, melanin removal, and strengthening the basement membrane.

Sedation:

Tranexamic acid 500mg/day oral + Mesona J

Recently, hand-administered water-based injections using Pulliar have also been said to be effective.

Melanin Excretion:

After controlling inflammation, with a lower output than PicoSpotpicotoningby applying it to the entire skin surface

It gradually removes the accumulated melanin that causes overall dullness without stimulating the melanocytes responsible for excessive melanin production.

Basement membrane reinforcement:

Between the epidermis and dermis lies a barrier structure called the basement membrane. Skin turnover occurs in the layers above this basement membrane. In melasma lesions, this basement membrane is said to become fragile, allowing melanin pigment, which normally resides within the epidermis, to migrate into the dermis. Melanin within the dermis is thought to be difficult to eliminate and thus challenging to treat.

potenzaThis treatment uses fine needles to create micro-injuries on the skin and then applies high-frequency heat. This heat strengthens the basement membrane, suppresses the melanocytes (where melanin is produced) present in the basement membrane, and improves melasma by normalizing skin turnover.
