A witch nose refers to a nose with a drooping tip, giving an impression of being mean or as if it has something to say.
There are two main causes of witch nose.
①Prominent nasal bone or nasal septal cartilage causing a raised nasal bridge
② The tip of the nose should be lowered. An ideal nasolabial angle is approximately 90-100°.
Treatment options include surgery and injection therapy.
This time, we'll discuss improvements achieved through hyaluronic acid injections.
First, hyaluronic acid is injected into the nasal septum to lift the tip of the nose and improve issue ②. Then, it is injected into the step on the bridge of the nose to fill in the protrusion of issue ①.
However, if the protrusion in ① is too pronounced, making it completely inconspicuous can result in a nose that appears overly large and unnatural. Therefore, it is also important to make the judgment call to leave a moderate amount.
In that case, surgery will be necessary to completely remove it.
This patient doesn't have a witch's nose, but it's due to ②.
Hyaluronic acid injections lifted the tip of the nose, instantly creating a face with more defined features (injections were also administered to the chin)!
The nasal depressor muscle contributes to a drooping nasal tip. Since this muscle lowers the tip, suppressing it with Botox can help elevate the nasal tip.
