Improve pore impurities, enlarged pores, and dark spots with Hydrafacial
As an Assistant Professor, Associate Ward Director, and Chief of Dermatopathology at the university hospital dermatology department, I deepened my expertise through academic presentations and paper publications both domestically and internationally. I have handled a wide range of treatments, from birthmark therapy in children to adult pigmentation concerns, utilizing various lasers and injection therapies, while also contributing to community healthcare. Through encountering numerous cases, I strongly felt the potential and necessity of aesthetic medicine, resolving to pursue further expertise. Building upon my solid dermatological knowledge and meticulous diagnostic skills, I value treatments that gently support each individual's skin while bringing out its inherent beauty.
Today, I'd like to introduce you to Hydrafacial.
I am Dr. Aya Hayama, a board-certified dermatologist.

With the rainy season finally coming to an end, these days have been hot and humid. Is everyone managing their sebum control well?
When summer comes, I can't help but worry about pore dirt, enlarged pores, and blackheads.。
Causes of Pore Problems
Do you even know what causes these pore problems in the first place?
The sebaceous glands, which are actually hair appendages. Attached to the hair, they secrete sebum through the hair follicles, serving as one of the components that moisturize the epidermis.
When this is secreted excessively, it can also cause skin conditions such as acne.
Sebum secretion is inherently heavily influenced by sex hormones, so it increases particularly during the growth period of the teens and twenties, and also regardless of age when stress or fatigue disrupts hormonal balance.
(※However, sebaceous glands themselves decrease with age←a cause of dryness)
When pores become clogged with dead skin cells (also known as comedones or blackheads), the resident bacteria on the skin, Propionibacterium acnes, multiply and cause inflammation, resulting in red acne.
※As a side note, inflamed red acne not only leaves redness as acne scars but also forms scar tissue.
Recent data indicates that even leaving clogged pores untreated can lead to enlarged pores and scarring. Therefore, pore treatment is necessary even from the perspective of insurance-covered medical care.
Another thing you can't miss there is,Summer temperature and humidity!!
As temperature and humidity rise, sebaceous glands become more active to regulate body temperature, leading to excessive sebum secretion once again.
Furthermore, to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays, the stratum corneum thickens on the skin's surface. This thickened layer mixes with sebum and clogs pores, forming comedones.
When this oxidizes and turns black, it becomes noticeable as darkened pores.
The nose in particular has a high concentration of sebaceous glands. Furthermore, the dermal fat layer is thin, and you'll likely feel bone or cartilage just beneath the skin when you touch it. Because there isn't much skin to stretch over it, blackheads tend to push the pores open. This makes enlarged pores and blackheads a more noticeable concern here than on other areas.
So, how do you manage that sebum?
We certainly recommend washing your face twice daily with a cleanser in the morning and evening, but it's difficult to remove all blackheads with that alone.
So, I'd like to introduce one of the treatments available at BIANCA.
What do you think of this case?
Compared to before, when I was concerned about pore dirt, enlarged pores, and darkened pores, I no longer notice any of these issues immediately after.
The treatment was performed by ☆ Hydrafacial ☆
Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is a skin treatment that thoroughly cleanses and removes dead skin cells, deep-seated impurities, and blackheads from the skin's surface using a swirling stream of water infused with beauty-enhancing ingredients.
Microdermabrasion (physical exfoliation) × Chemical Peel (chemical dissolution) × Beauty Ingredient Infusion
This treatment simultaneously addresses pore impurities, enlarged pores, and blackheads, providing immediate improvement. By removing dead skin cells, it brightens dullness and normalizes skin turnover, making it easy to notice enhanced skin tone, firmness, and radiance.
Additionally, because it uses water flow for exfoliation, it causes less irritation to the skin compared to conventional peels. This makes it less likely to cause dryness, redness, or peeling—common side effects of standard chemical peels—and reduces the sensation of stinging pain.
The procedure is minimally painful with almost no downtime.
Finally, it also introduces moisturizing ingredients and serums, making it an excellent product that not only improves pore problems but also builds the foundation for healthy skin.
Additionally, BIANCA prioritizes minimizing friction and reducing skin stress through its signature treatment method, which thoroughly removes impurities without excessive power.

Of course, you can opt for single treatments whenever you feel the need, but repeated Hydrafacial sessions are also effective against acne caused by the aforementioned sebum buildup in pores.
The recommended frequency is about once a month.
After 3-4 Hydrafacial sessions, new acne breakouts should stop, and after 5-6 sessions, you can expect the redness from acne scars to fade.
Skin turnover normalizes, so dullness is reduced, and pigmentation and acne scar redness are expected to fade more quickly.
Here's a personal musing from me, a dermatologist...
Exfoliation is one of the pillars of achieving beautiful skin, and I believe there are various other methods for exfoliation, such as cleansers, toners, acne treatments, and chemical peels.
Therefore, Hydrafacial is one treatment I highly recommend, especially when you're concerned about enlarged pores, experiencing acne flare-ups, or noticing dullness. It also works well as a complementary treatment to prepare the skin for other procedures.
Moving forward, we'd like to introduce other keratin treatments and recommended treatments for enlarged pores and sagging pores.
