Droopy eyelid correction can be performed either through a skin incision or a conjunctival incision (from the inside of the eyelid).
This time, I'll talk about that adaptation.
◯Conjunctival Incision Cases
Since the incision is made inside the eyelid, no scar will be visible on the outside.
This can be performed simultaneously with fat removal and subcutaneous liposuction.
Since the conjunctiva is manipulated, the eye may remain swollen for about a month.
◯ Skin Incision Cases
An incision is made near the eyelashes. Sutures will need to be removed approximately one week after surgery.
Scars on the lower eyelid often become less noticeable.
In cases where the eyelashes are naturally inverted before surgery, creating droopy eyes can worsen the condition. To prevent this, we partially remove excess skin from the lower eyelid.
Additionally, the approach using skin incisions is said to provide stronger pulling force, so skin incisions are used when significant changes are desired.
In cases where previous fat removal has been performed, the CPF muscle—which lowers the eyelid—is often cut and scarred, so the procedure may be performed from the front.
