As an Assistant Professor, Associate Ward Director, and Chief of Dermatopathology at the university hospital dermatology department, I deepened my expertise through academic presentations and paper publications both domestically and internationally. I have handled a wide range of treatments, from birthmark therapy in children to adult pigmentation concerns, utilizing various lasers and injection therapies, while also contributing to community healthcare. Through encountering numerous cases, I strongly felt the potential and necessity of aesthetic medicine, resolving to pursue further expertise. Building upon my solid dermatological knowledge and meticulous diagnostic skills, I value treatments that gently support each individual's skin while bringing out its inherent beauty.

Differences Between Epidermal and Dermal Lesions and Downtime

Superficial lesions form scabs within 2 to 7 days after treatment, which naturally fall off in about a week. Redness subsides within 2 to 4 weeks, and makeup can be resumed approximately one week after the scabs have fallen off. Washing your face and bathing are possible starting the same day, but it is important to do so gently without rubbing hard. Avoiding strenuous exercise and alcohol for several days to a week helps prevent worsening of redness and swelling.

For lesions extending into the dermis, scabs may persist for 7 to 14 days, and redness may subside within 1 to 3 months. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation may last 3 to 6 months, so sun protection and topical whitening agents are recommended. Makeup can generally be resumed after 10 days to 2 weeks, and it is advisable to avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol consumption for 1 to 2 weeks.

For viral lesions, postoperative care is crucial for preventing recurrence. The key is to keep the wound area moisturized without drying it out, maintaining the skin's barrier function while avoiding friction and irritation. Additionally, prioritizing adequate sleep and balanced nutrition to support immune health can reduce the risk of recurrence. Whether the lesions are single or multiple, following the doctor's instructions for skin care is essential for preventing recurrence.
