I am Masataka Fujihashi, a board-certified plastic surgeon.
The specific procedures required for rhinoplasty vary significantly depending on "which part of the nose" and "how you want it changed."
Simply adding height doesn't necessarily mean it will suit your facial features.
This time, we will categorize them broadly into six types based on nasal structure, clearly organizing representative procedures and approaches for each.

① Enhance the height of the bridge of the nose(Improvement of the Nasal Bridge to Nasal Ridge Line)
Hyaluronic Acid Injections (Non-Surgical)
A simple way to test different shapes. It defines the bridge of your nose.
※Direct injection into the nasal tip carries a risk of vascular occlusion.is high, and we generally do not perform it.
To add height, inject into the membranous nasal septum.
Rhinoplasty (surgery)
・Prosthesis: Provides substantial height and maintains a stable shape
・Costal cartilage graft: As it uses the patient's own tissue, the risk of long-term infection is low.
Using crushed cartilage also allows for natural contour adjustments.

② Shape the tip of the nose(Roundness → Sharpen / Increase height)

Rhinoplasty
Reduce the cartilage to create a more refined, rounded nose tip.
Cartilage grafts such as onlay grafts or shield grafts are also combined as needed.
Septoplasty

Cartilage used: Rib cartilage / Nasal septal cartilage / Auricular cartilage
Individuals who originally lack sufficient envelope (skin and soft tissue) may not achieve adequate results without nasal septum extension.

Hump removal
We shave down the protrusion along the bridge of the nose (the bone and cartilage ridge) to refine the profile line.
This procedure is often performed in combination with rhinoplasty.

④ Adjust the width and distortion(Significantly altering the front impression)
Nasal bone osteotomy with narrowing
Improves concerns such as a wide or crooked-looking bridge of the nose.
It is also effective for those with significant left-right differences.

Nasal Wing Reduction Surgery
・Internal method: Corrects large nostrils
・External Method: Improves the spread of the nostrils
Nasal alar rim elevation/lowering
・Lifting: Reducing the thickness of the nostrils
・Downward: Improves the appearance of nostrils visible from the front
It is important to identify which part of the nose is causing the nostrils to appear large.
The surgical procedure varies depending on the hole, the spread, or the thickness.

Noble Surgery
Suitable for individuals with a sunken bridge of the nose.
The midface gains a more three-dimensional appearance, and you can also expect the effect of making nasolabial folds appear shallower.
