Hello!

Designing natural beauty with trust.

I am Masataka Fujihashi, a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Rhinoplasty counseling,It gives you height without cutting."There is less downtime."Have you ever been offered an osteopor or G-mesh with an explanation such as

At first glance, it sounds easy and attractive, but in the field of corrective surgery,Serious problems caused by foreign objectsWe see numerous

In this article, we will focus on what is wrong with foreign body insertion, particularly the reality that occurs during correction.

What is Osteopole G-mesh?

Osteopor is an artificial material made of an absorbent material called PCL (polycaprolactone), a material often described as "absorbed in about two years" or "eventually replaced by its own tissue.

G-Mesh, also made of PCL, is a mesh-like material inserted into the nasal bridge and has been used as a procedure to create height and line without cutting.

Tissue reaction around the mesh is said to result in temporary volume.

However,Even absorbent material is still a foreign object

Especially in the nose, where the skin is thin and blood flow is poor, careful judgment must be exercised regarding long-term safety.

What happens during the two years "until absorption".

Osteopoles and G-mesh are indeed absorbed.

The problem, however, is that theProcess of absorptionis.

Chronic inflammation

Strong adhesion

Post-absorption indentation or deformation

Skin thinning and redness

Foreign body breaks through the skin and comes out.

The following problems have been reported.

It is not "absorbed in two years = secure."

In some cases, they are still there after two years.

What happens when a modification replaces autologous tissue?

The most important thing to emphasize here is,When correcting a nose with a foreign object,My original organization has been severely damaged. This is a fact.

In actual revision cases,

Curved and deformed nasal wing cartilage

. Thinning of the skin and reduced blood flow.

This condition is seen in almost all cases.

Such a nose,Much harder than surgery on a nose that has done nothing.is

Nasal septal lengthening with rib cartilage is often almost mandatory to reconstruct damaged cartilage, and in some cases, dermal fat grafting must be combined for thinning skin.

As a result,

The number of surgeries to be performed will increase significantly.

Increased postoperative risk

Still, the ideal is not 100% fulfilled.

The situation may be such as.

Pitfall of "it was good right after

In counseling at the time of revision,

I didn't research it well enough to take it."

After the surgery, I did some research and got scared."

'It started out well, but after a year it lost its shape.'

We very often hear people say, "I'm not sure I can do this.

The nose is a framework or support structure calledWithout a foundation, it will not hold its shape in the long term.

Foreign body insertions are often only temporarily shaped without that foundation treatment.

Not only does it look good immediately afterwards, but it also loses its shape,Only damage remains to the organization. The worst result is thatIt can be.

Not all are bad, but adaptations are limited.

Of course, there are those who put in a foreign body and pass without incident.

It may be an option in cases such as, "I just want to add a little bit of height."

However,The more firmly you want to change the shape or raise the height, the more likely you are to get into trouble.

■ Summary

Rhinoplasty is a field that strongly demands knowledge, training, and experience.

Foreign body insertion, on the other hand, is technically accomplished by "just putting it in.

That's why it's easy, with little downtime, and the ideal is achieved ⸻.

It is also true that such sweet words are easily lined up for the immediate benefit of the clinic.

However,If you want a stable nose in the long term, it is essential to choose the theoretically correct surgeryis.

Please keep that perspective in mind.
