Nasal wing base prosthesis (aristocratic surgery)
- Support the base of the nostrils and address deep nasolabial folds from within
- Refine the base of the nostrils for a youthful appearance
- Achieve a refined impression by harmonizing the three-dimensional balance of the midface.
A nasal base augmentation is a procedure that lifts the low nasal base (the area at the base of the nostrils) from the inside to add height, thereby improving deep nasolabial folds. It creates a three-dimensional, refined facial impression, leading to its nickname in Korea as the "noble surgery."
Treatments for nasolabial folds typically involve filling deeply etched grooves with hyaluronic acid or fat injections. However, these methods are less effective for deep nasolabial folds caused by depression at the base of the nostrils. Therefore, our clinic addresses nasolabial folds resulting from this depression by implanting a nasal base prosthesis to improve deep nasolabial folds.
The primary causes of deep, prominent nasolabial folds include skin laxity due to aging, dryness, dental alignment, and puffiness. For nasolabial folds caused by skin laxity, thread lifts, medical HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound), lifting lasers, and facelifts are considered effective treatments. However, when the cause is a sunken nasal alar base, a nasal alar base prosthesis can effectively lift the sunken area to restore height. A sunken alar base can make the face appear flat, giving an impression of fatigue or aging.

CHARACTERISTICSTreatment Characteristics
Depression at the base of the nostrils not only accentuates nasolabial folds but can also make the mouth area appear protruding due to the height difference with the sunken area. This protruding mouth condition is sometimes referred to as "protruding mouth." While the cause is commonly attributed to teeth or gums, depression at the base of the nostrils can actually be the underlying issue. Therefore, if you are concerned, it is important to seek a consultation to find appropriate examination and treatment methods.
