CHARACTERISTICSWhat is Manuka Facial (Dermapen 4)?
Manuka Facial is a treatment combining the "CLR Lotion (Skin Quality Improvement Serum)" for Dermapen, which helps prevent acne and skin irritation while providing moisturization, with Dermapen 4, which targets enlarged pores, skin texture improvement, and acne scars.
Dermapen 4 creates high-density micro-channels in the skin, supporting collagen and elastin production through the skin's natural healing process. Dermapen 4 features 16 ultra-fine 33G (0.20mm) needles capable of creating 1,920 micro-channels per second.
During the treatment, the highly moisturizing base agent "HylaActive" is mixed with "CLR Lotion" and introduced. Beneficial ingredients penetrate deep into the skin through the micro-channels created by the Dermapen. An anesthetic cream is applied beforehand, and the Dermapen is gently glided over the skin. As a result, discomfort is typically described as a mild tingling or prickling sensation.
CLR Lotion for Dermapen
The CLR Lotion used in Manuka facials is a serum designed for Dermapen treatments. Known as a "skin-improving lotion," it addresses skin concerns, hydrates the skin, balances sebum production, and helps create conditions less prone to breakouts. Its main ingredients include Manuka honey, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid, and peptides. Downtime and discomfort after treatment are minimal, and you'll likely feel your skin become plump and supple immediately afterward.
<Expected Effects of the Acids Contained>
・Lactic acid: By increasing ceramide levels in the stratum corneum, it is expected to enhance skin hydration.
・Glycolic acid: A type of fruit acid. Inhibits the growth of acne bacteria and other bacteria.
・Salicylic acid: Softens and dissolves dead skin cells, supporting the penetration of lactic acid and glycolic acid.
What is Manuka Honey, the main ingredient in CLR Lotion?
Manuka honey is honey harvested from the flowers of the Manuka tree, which grows wild in Australia and New Zealand. It is also known as a rare honey that can only be harvested for a few weeks each year.
Manuka honey is said to contain high levels of "MGO (methylglyoxal)," a natural antibacterial compound not commonly found in other honeys. Labels such as "Manuka Honey 400" or "Manuka Honey 550" indicate the MGO content per kilogram of Manuka honey.
Recently, not only food products but also an Australian medical-grade Manuka gel called "Manuka Fine Gel" has been featured in the media. Manuka honey is used in Manuka facials and is also included in the peeling treatment "Manuka Peel," which is offered at Bianca.
Benefits
MERITMay help prevent skin problems
MGO (methylglyoxal) contained in Manuka honey is said to have antibacterial properties. Therefore, it can help prevent acne and skin irritation caused by moisture and friction inside masks.
Maintain skin hydration
It is expected to moisturize the skin, maintaining its hydration and promoting suppleness.
Make skin less susceptible to external irritants
Its wound-healing effect forms a lipid barrier on the skin's surface, providing a sealing action that helps reduce sensitivity to external irritants.

RECOMMENDED POINTSWhat Causes Skin Problems
One cause of skin problems is the buildup of dead skin cells. Healthy skin is said to renew itself approximately every 28 days, but factors like dryness, UV exposure, and aging can impair skin function, disrupting this turnover. This leads to the accumulation of dead skin cells, potentially causing skin issues such as acne, dark spots, dullness, and fine dry lines.
The ingredients in the "CLR Lotion" used in Manuka facials are designed to moisturize the skin and control sebum secretion balance, helping to prevent skin problems.
What's the difference between Manuka facial and Manuka peel?
Manuka Peel is a chemical peel treatment, while Manuka Facial is a treatment using Dermapen 4 plus serum infusion. Although both treatments use formulations primarily containing Manuka honey, they utilize different agents and are distinct procedures.
At Manuka Peel, we finish the peel treatment by conditioning the skin with serum and cream. Meanwhile, the Manuka Facial uses the Dermapen 4 to apply a formulation primarily composed of Manuka honey. For the finishing step, we soothe and hydrate the skin using our original pack, "B.THE MASK," which is highly popular at Bianca Clinic, while providing cooling relief.

Manuka Facial (Dermapen 4) Frequently Asked Questions
Q&AIs Manuka facial effective for enlarged pores and dark spots?
Yes. It is also suitable for enlarged pores, blackheads, as well as skin with acne, papules, pustules, inflammation, oily skin, acne-prone skin, and hyperpigmentation. Please consult your physician for details.
Can I get a Manuka facial even if I have acne-prone or sensitive skin?
Manuka honey is said to protect the skin during treatments with its moisturizing and sealing effects, but it may cause irritation depending on skin condition. Those with sensitive skin should definitely consult a physician.
What is the difference between Manuka facial and Dermapen 4 standalone treatments?
Dermapen 4 standalone treatments primarily target skin texture and pore care, and do not effectively address existing acne. Bianca Clinic does not offer Dermapen 4 standalone treatments; instead, we provide treatments that combine Dermapen 4 with active ingredient infusion, such as the Manuka Facial.
What are the post-treatment precautions for Manuka facials?
Makeup and facial cleansing are possible starting the next day. Avoid touching your face unnecessarily and take thorough measures against UV rays, such as using sunscreen and a sun umbrella.
Is Manuka facial painful?
During treatment, anesthetic cream is used, so discomfort is typically described as a slight tingling or prickling sensation. If you are concerned about pain, please consult our staff.
How often should I get a Manuka facial?
The recommended frequency is once every two weeks, though this may vary depending on skin condition.
How long is the downtime for a Manuka facial?
Individual results may vary, but redness, dryness, peeling, and scabbing may occur for several days after treatment.
How long does the redness last after a Manuka facial?
Immediately after the treatment, a slight redness may remain, but it will gradually subside.
