Customization is key for spot treatment!
Propose treatments tailored to your concerns from multiple options
There are several types of skin spots, including age spots, freckles, melasma, and ADM. It is not uncommon for multiple types of spots to coexist rather than just one type. Furthermore, the appropriate treatment varies for each patient not only based on the type of spot but also on their original skin type. If treatment is inappropriate, spots may actually worsen, making it crucial to determine the treatment plan based on an accurate diagnosis.
At BIANCA CLINIC, we treat dark spots using multiple approaches beyond Pico Spot, including device-based treatments like Pico Toning, Lumecca, and Mesona J, skincare with doctor-recommended cosmetics, and oral medications/supplements. In addition to the expertise of our pigmentation specialists, consultations utilize the high-performance VISIA skin analysis system to evaluate skin condition. This technology identifies hidden spots difficult to see with the naked eye and potential future pigmentation issues, allowing us to customize treatments tailored to each individual patient.

CHARACTERISTICSWhat is PicoSpot?
PicoSpot is a treatment method that uses laser light with a pulse duration of picoseconds (one trillionth of a second), even shorter than conventional nanosecond lasers (one billionth of a second), to destroy melanin pigment responsible for spots and freckles. PicoSpot treatment is suitable for relatively large spots with distinct borders, as well as for removing tattoos and permanent makeup. Because laser irradiation can be applied precisely to the target area, results can be expected with fewer treatment sessions.
Less risk of skin damage and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Bianca Clinic uses PICOSURE® for Pico Spot treatments, a device developed by Cynosure, Inc., a company boasting a high market share in medical lasers. While conventional medical lasers operate at nanosecond (one billionth of a second) pulses, PICOSURE® delivers laser light in picosecond (one trillionth of a second) pulses—1/1000th of a second shorter. This ultra-short pulse duration minimizes thermal damage to the skin, reducing the burden on the tissue.
Melanin pigment shattered by laser irradiation becomes waste material and is absorbed by the body. The finer the shattered pigment, the easier it is absorbed, making the degree of fragmentation crucial. PicoSpot's defining feature is its ability to shatter pigment into extremely fine particles compared to conventional laser treatments. This enables highly effective treatment with a lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Pico lasers can address a wide range of skin concerns depending on the irradiation mode.
The PICOSURE® medical laser device can address various skin concerns beyond PicoSpot by utilizing different irradiation modes.
◆Pico Spot... Targets stubborn spots and blemishes with laser light to break down melanin pigment. Ideal for treating deep spots, blemishes, and tattoo removal.
◆Pico Toning… Applies low-output laser over a broad area to gradually break down melanin pigment. Suitable for treating light spots and melasma.
◆Pico Fractional… Delivers pinpoint laser energy to improve skin texture. It is expected to be effective for a wide range of skin concerns, including enlarged pores and acne scars.
When it comes to pico lasers, the image of Pico Spot for spot removal treatment is strong, but there are three modes: Pico Toning, which targets light pigmentation like melasma; Pico Fractional, which offers potential skin texture improvement; and others. Treatment often involves combining modes based on the patient's skin condition. For instance, after multiple Pico Toning sessions when melasma has faded, Pico Spot can be applied to stubborn dark spots. Conversely, Pico Toning may follow Pico Spot treatment.

Recommended Features
RECOMMENDED POINTSUsing the high-performance skin diagnostic device VISIA, we propose appropriate treatment methods.
There are several types of skin spots, each with distinct characteristics. Furthermore, the appropriate approach varies depending on the patient's skin type, and improper treatment may actually worsen the condition. For effective spot treatment, it is crucial to accurately identify the type of spot and the patient's skin type. Therefore, at Bianca Clinic, we conduct consultations using the high-performance skin diagnostic device VISIA.
VISIA is a skin imaging diagnostic device that uses high-performance cameras and analysis technology to visualize and quantify skin conditions such as existing spots, potential spots, pores, wrinkles, acne, and skin age. It analyzes both color and UV photographs to diagnose your skin's precise condition—beyond what can be determined by visual inspection alone. In addition to the VISIA diagnostic results, our physicians, who are experts in spot treatment, will thoroughly examine your skin and propose a treatment plan. If you're unsure which method is best for your spot treatment, feel free to consult with us.
Follow-up After PicoSpot Treatment
Before treatment, it is important to understand the progression of how spots and freckles fade after PicoSpot treatment.
The treated area immediately after PicoSpot may resemble a mild burn, with possible redness and swelling. Within a few days to a week after treatment, the redness and swelling subside, the area darkens, and a thin scab forms. Forcibly removing the scab can increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation later on, so it is crucial to avoid touching it as much as possible. The scab will begin to peel off naturally 1 to 2 weeks after treatment, revealing new skin.
After the scab falls off, avoid irritation as much as possible and never skip sun protection. While you may notice the effects of the spot treatment 1 to 2 months after the procedure, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can sometimes occur. The degree of hyperpigmentation varies from person to person, ranging from faint and mild to darker than before treatment. However, it will gradually fade and become less noticeable over time.
Can also be applied to colors other than black for tattoos and permanent makeup
PicoSpot is a treatment method also suitable for removing tattoos and permanent makeup. Conventional laser treatments only react to black pigment, and removing other colors often required lasers that caused significant pain or surgical excision. In contrast, PicoSpot can target not only black but also brown, blue, green, and other pigments previously considered difficult to remove.
Furthermore, PicoSpot can break down even tiny ink particles. Since it shatters pigment using shockwaves rather than heat, it causes less skin damage at the treatment site than conventional lasers, enabling shorter treatment periods.
If you wish to remove colorful tattoos or permanent makeup, or want to remove tattoos or permanent makeup as quickly as possible, please consider removal with PicoSpot.

Aftercare
Makeup may be applied starting the day after Pico Spot treatment. Post-treatment care is also crucial. To minimize the risk of hyperpigmentation, avoid irritating the treated area. When cleansing and applying skincare, do not rub the area and ensure thorough moisturization. Sun exposure to the treated area can also cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so adequate sun protection is essential.
