To maximize your beauty, care for both the inside and outside is essential. We aim to bring advanced anti-aging treatments, such as peptide therapy common overseas, to our Japanese patients. While aesthetic medical approaches may offer more gradual results, they are crucial for building the foundation that supports beauty and youth. We combine nutritional therapy and lifestyle improvements with hormone replacement, peptide therapy, and regenerative medicine to propose personalized treatment plans. We provide long-term support for health and beauty from within.

Zero calories is an appealing phrase for those on a diet.

If you're someone who doesn't want to gain weight or wants to cut back on sugar for health reasons, you're probably choosing zero-calorie cola.

When you drink cola, do you choose regular cola or zero-calorie cola?

Coke vs. Zero-Calorie Coke: Which Does the Cosmetic Doctor Recommend?

ゼロカロリーコーラ

Cola contains a lot of sugar, so it's understandable that people trying to cut back on sugar avoid it. But if you're going to drink cola, I recommend regular cola.

Zero-calorie cola is a dream product that tastes sweet and delicious yet has zero calories. The secret to its sweetness lies in artificial sweeteners.

And this artificial sweetener is precisely why I don't recommend diet cola.

It might sound a bit strange that cola with sugar might actually be healthier, but let me explain why.

What types of artificial sweeteners are there?

There are several types of artificial sweeteners. Examples include the following ingredients:

  • ・Aspartame・L-phenylalanine compound
  • ・Acesulfame K
  • ・Sucralose

Artificial sweeteners are cheaper than sugar and can be mass-produced. That's why many zero-calorie beverage products using artificial sweeteners are sold.

Points to Note About Artificial Sweeteners

Some people might wonder, "What's wrong with artificial sweeteners?"

The reason artificial sweeteners are dangerous is that they can be addictive and dull your sense of taste. As you become accustomed to artificial sweeteners, your perception of sweetness diminishes, potentially leading to increased consumption as you seek greater satisfaction.

Furthermore, artificial sweeteners are not absorbed by the body. This aspect, where they can cause abnormalities in sugar metabolism and make it easier for fat to accumulate, is also a cause for concern.

A study was actually conducted at the University of Texas comparing a group that drank one to two cans of zero-calorie cola daily with a group that drank regular cola. The results showed that the group drinking zero-calorie cola actually gained 50% more weight!

You could gain weight from zero-calorie cola!

Consuming artificial sweeteners in zero-calorie cola causes a shift in hormone secretion that promotes fat storage, leading to weight gain.

Reports also suggest that consuming artificial sweeteners may increase food cravings. Drinking zero-calorie beverages could make you hungrier, potentially leading to higher overall calorie intake.

The reassurance that "zero calories means you won't gain weight even if you drink a lot!" can lead to overconsumption, so be careful. Since it doesn't trigger the release of fat-storing hormones, regular cola with sugar is actually a better choice.

Of course, if you want to lose weight healthily, it's best to avoid both zero-calorie cola and regular cola. But if you do choose to drink it, I recommend sticking with regular cola.

If you're interested in weight loss or anti-aging care, please feel free to schedule a consultation. We will propose an approach tailored to each patient's unique constitution and circumstances.
