Unique Initiatives at BIANCA CLINIC

Achieve your ideal beautiful skin with a treatment plan based on skin analysis

Lumecca is a light therapy treatment that can be effective for concerns such as dark spots, freckles, and facial redness. At Bianca, we can also combine it with skin analysis using VISIA® to provide a more effective treatment.

VISIA® is a skin diagnostic device that analyzes images captured by a high-performance camera to visualize potential spots and wrinkles beneath the skin's surface—invisible to the naked eye—and quantify skin age. VISIA® incorporates a database of approximately 100,000 measurement results, scoring skin condition by comparing it to the average values for the same age group. It consistently captures images under uniform lighting and positioning, ensuring high reproducibility, and allows comparison of images before and after treatments.

By combining Lumecca with a VISIA® skin analysis, we can propose a treatment plan that addresses not only existing spots and dullness, but also potential future concerns.

CHARACTERISTICS

What is Lumecca?

LUMECCA™ is a high-performance IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) phototherapy device manufactured by InMode (an Israeli medical device company). Its key feature is its industry-leading peak power, which is said to make results noticeable even after fewer sessions. While previous phototherapy devices often required 4 to 5 treatments, with LUMECCA™, some individuals notice results after just 1 to 3 sessions. It can also effectively address light spots and redness, areas where previous light therapies often struggled to deliver sufficient results.

Equipped with a sapphire tip cooling system for pain management. The discomfort during treatment is comparable to being flicked by a rubber band, making it suitable even for those sensitive to pain. For those who didn't achieve desired results with conventional IPL light therapy, Lumecca offers a more promising solution.

ルメッカとは

Lumecca can address a wide range of concerns because it can deliver two different wavelengths of light.

Lumecca is an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment that utilizes two distinct handpieces tailored to specific skin concerns. Each handpiece targets a different wavelength range, enabling comprehensive treatment of a wide spectrum of issues—from melanin-related concerns like dark spots and freckles to vascular concerns such as redness and broken capillaries.

【Lumecca's Features by Mode and Addressable Concerns】

●Short Pulse
A light-emitting mode that reacts to melanin. Targets dark spots, freckles, and dullness to achieve a translucent, radiant complexion.
●Long Pulse
A light therapy mode that targets hemoglobin. It addresses concerns where hemoglobin is a contributing factor, such as facial redness, rosacea, and acne-related redness, aiming to reduce facial redness.

At Lumecca, we not only switch irradiation modes to address your specific concerns, but we can also combine both modes. Even if you're concerned about redness as well as spots and freckles, we can treat them simultaneously.

Makeup can be applied immediately after treatment, with minimal downtime.

Lumecca has relatively minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume daily activities almost immediately after treatment. Following Lumecca treatment, patients may apply makeup, wash their face, and shower on the same day. During the recovery period, there is generally no need to apply tape to the treated area. However, activities such as prolonged bathing, alcohol consumption, and exercise should be avoided on the day of treatment, as they may increase the risk of worsening swelling or redness due to the treatment's blood circulation-promoting effects.

During the downtime after Lumecca treatment, temporary swelling or redness may occur, but this usually subsides within a few days. A thin scab may form, but please do not pick at it. Wait for it to fall off naturally within a few days to a few weeks. If you have any concerns about your Lumecca recovery, please consult your doctor.

RECOMMENDED POINTS

Is that concern a spot? Melasma? Why a consultation with an experienced physician is crucial

Some patients troubled by dark spots feel that "even after treating them with Lumecca, there was no effect." One reason for this perception is that what they thought were dark spots might actually be something else, such as melasma or early-stage seborrheic keratosis. Melasma is commonly seen in many patients who come in for dark spot consultations, and it is not uncommon for them to also have senile lentigines or seborrheic keratosis.

While Lumecca can be effective for freckles, it is not indicated for melasma or seborrheic keratosis. In particular, applying Lumecca to melasma can sometimes worsen the condition. Therefore, it is essential to accurately determine whether the condition is freckles or melasma before treatment.

Sunspots and melasma are difficult to distinguish visually, making it challenging for patients to determine which they have. A diagnosis by a knowledgeable physician is essential when addressing sunspots or melasma. At Bianca Clinic, our experienced doctors examine your skin and propose a treatment plan tailored to your concerns.

Achieve longer-lasting results with Bianca's recommended treatment intervals.

At Bianca Clinic, we recommend undergoing approximately six Lumecca treatments at four-week intervals, depending on your skin condition. While some individuals notice changes after just one Lumecca session, multiple treatments are often necessary to effectively address concerns like dark spots and redness. Continuing treatments at appropriate intervals allows you to experience noticeable changes while minimizing potential skin damage.

The number of Lumecca sessions required varies depending on each patient's concerns. After a consultation with our physician, we will propose an appropriate treatment plan. At Bianca, we offer three pricing options—1 session, 3 sessions, and 6 sessions—to make receiving multiple Lumecca treatments more accessible. Please discuss your budget and preferences during your consultation.

Achieve your ideal beautiful skin through the combined use of oral supplements and skincare.

At Bianca, we offer comprehensive treatment plans combining aesthetic medical devices with oral medications and skincare to effectively address skin concerns. For treating dark spots, we may combine Lumecca treatments with oral medications like ascorbic acid, tranexamic acid, and tocopherol acetate. We can also recommend skincare products for home use as part of your Lumecca aftercare routine. We aim to resolve your skin concerns through a comprehensive approach.

At BIANCA, we also offer the "BIANCA Skin Management Subscription," a flat-rate service where you can choose treatments tailored to your specific concerns. You can select treatments using aesthetic medical devices including Lumecca, oral medications, and skincare products for home use.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lumecca

Q&A

What's the difference between Lumecca and photofacial?

Similar to Lumecca, other companies offer light therapy devices. Photofacial is a trademark used for the M22 device, and it essentially provides the same light therapy treatment.

What's the difference between Lumecca and Pico Toning?

The difference between Lumecca and Pico Toning lies in the type of equipment and the specific concerns they can address.
While Lumecca is a light-based treatment, Pico Toning is a medical laser device.
Pico Toning, Pico Fractional, and Pico Spot are all irradiation modes of the pico laser. By selecting the appropriate irradiation mode for each purpose, it can address not only spots and acne scars, but also melasma, moles, and tattoos—conditions that are difficult to treat with Lumecca.

How much time should I leave between Lumecca and Potenza treatments?

When receiving Lumecca and Potenza treatments, it is recommended to allow approximately four weeks between sessions. If you wish to undergo Lumecca and Potenza treatments at Bianca, we can propose an appropriate treatment plan with the right cycle after examining your skin condition. Please discuss this during your consultation.

How much time should I leave between Lumecca and Dermapen treatments?

While Lumecca and Dermapen target different skin layers, combining treatments can minimize skin damage by spacing them approximately three weeks apart. Patients considering both Lumecca and Dermapen should discuss this during their consultation.

Does Lumecca have facial hair removal effects?

Lumecca is not a device designed for hair removal, so hair removal effects cannot be expected. Some individuals may notice a reduction in facial peach fuzz after Lumecca treatment. However, since Lumecca does not target hair follicles like laser hair removal does, any facial hair reduction achieved through Lumecca is likely temporary.

When getting a LumeCca treatment and a peel, which should come first?

Undergoing a peel beforehand is said to remove excess dead skin cells, refine the skin's surface, and help Lumecca light penetrate deeper into the skin. If you are considering a peel after your Lumecca treatment, please allow a gap of about 3 to 4 weeks. At Bianca, we offer a variety of peels, such as the Massage Peel and Lala Peel, which can be selected according to your specific concerns. If you are considering both Lumecca and a peel, please consult with us.

Is it true that dark spots get darker after getting Lumecca?

A reaction called microcrusting may cause shallow scabs to appear temporarily darker, resembling increased pigmentation. Additionally, a strong reaction to Lumecca may sometimes cause temporary hyperpigmentation. In most cases, the scabs will naturally peel off and fade over time.

What are the precautions to take after Lumecca treatment and during downtime?

After your Lumecca treatment, please apply sunscreen and take thorough measures against UV exposure. During the Lumecca downtime, redness or swelling may occur, but these typically subside within a few days to a few weeks. If scabs form, please be careful not to peel them off forcefully. If you have any concerns about your progress after Lumecca, please consult us.
