Sculptura
SCULPTRANurture youthful-looking, natural skin through gradual, natural changes
- An approach that supports the promotion of collagen production to bring out the skin's natural vitality
- Injection treatments that aim for natural-looking results over time
- Pursuing designs tailored to each individual through constantly evolving technical expertise
My journey into aesthetic medicine stems from a desire to help enrich and beautify lives beyond simply treating illness. My specialties include hyaluronic acid, Botox, and thread lifts. I provide treatments that enhance each individual's unique qualities and bring out an elegant, natural beauty. For concerns around the eyes that are difficult to improve with dermatology alone, I also perform surgical procedures. By integrating dermatology and surgery, I holistically balance the entire face. With three periods of overseas study, I am also able to provide consultations in English.

Pursuing Our Patients' Ideal Results Through an Anatomical Approach
Sculptra is a procedure that requires not only injection but also proven technical skill and knowledge. At BIANCA CLINIC, we constantly update our doctors’ techniques and dilution concentration management by participating in numerous international conferences and collaborating with clinics overseas. For Sculptra treatments, we design a personalized treatment plan after carefully evaluating each patient’s bone structure, fat distribution, and skin thickness.
In addition, we have specialists in various fields—including dermatology, cosmetic surgery, and plastic surgery—on staff, and have established a medical care system designed to address any potential complications. Since our clinic offers a wide variety of injectable treatments, we can propose a broad range of treatment plans tailored to each individual patient, not limited to Sculptra.

CHARACTERISTICSWhat is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable formulation whose main ingredient is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Once injected into the body, the PLLA microparticles are expected to stimulate fibroblasts and help promote the production of the body’s own collagen.
Rather than simply “adding volume,” this approach helps the skin regain plumpness and firmness from within by stimulating its own collagen production. While individual results may vary, effects typically appear gradually over approximately 3 to 6 weeks, and results are expected to last for about 2 to 3 years. The main treatment areas include nasolabial folds, hollow cheeks, temples, and the jawline. A physician will determine suitability during a pre-treatment consultation.
Pursuing the ideal look with designs tailored to each individual patient
To achieve a youthful and natural-looking result with Sculptra, it is important to analyze the face based on its anatomical structure. At Bianca Clinic, during the consultation, our doctors carefully examine each patient’s facial structure, skin condition, and areas of concern. We then propose a treatment plan that takes into account the patient’s current condition and the characteristics of Sculptra, which takes 3 to 6 weeks to take effect.
We also offer recommendations for treatments that can be combined with Sculptra to maximize results, as well as a wide range of other injectable treatments. Please feel free to consult with us if you have questions such as, “I’m concerned about wrinkles, but I don’t know which injectable treatment is right for me,” or “Should I start with skin-rejuvenating injections or device-based treatments?”
Thorough Management to Ensure You Can Receive Treatment with Peace of Mind
At Bianca Clinic, we provide medical care with safety as our top priority, carefully assessing each patient’s suitability for treatment to ensure they can undergo procedures with peace of mind.
Not limited to Sculptra, subcutaneous nodules (lumps) are considered a common side effect of injectable treatments in general. Additionally, although extremely rare, there have been reports of serious complications—including visual impairment—resulting from accidental injection into blood vessels. Therefore, it is considered essential to prioritize safety during the procedure by selecting the injection layer based on anatomical structures and carefully managing the appropriate injection volume.
At our clinic, we strive to minimize risks through detailed informed consent prior to treatment, rigorous control of injection volume, dilution ratio, and injection depth by our experienced physicians during the procedure, and post-treatment massage instruction.
Benefits
MERITInjection treatments that are expected to provide long-term results
By supporting the body's natural collagen production, the results are expected to last for about 2 to 3 years, although this may vary from person to person.
A change that gives a natural, polished look
The results appear gradually over 3 to 6 weeks, so there are no sudden changes—just a natural look. Even though it doesn’t look like you’ve had plastic surgery, you can achieve a natural, refined look.
Made from a biodegradable material that does not easily remain in the body
PLLA is a biocompatible material that is said to eventually hydrolyze into water and carbon dioxide within the body. This is an injection procedure that leaves little risk of foreign material remaining in the body.

KEY FEATURESThe Important “5-5-5 Rule” After a Sculptra Treatment
With Sculptra, post-treatment self-care is also important. In particular, the “5-5-5 Rule”—gently massaging the treated area in circular motions five times a day for five minutes each, for five days—is said to be an effective measure for reducing the risk of side effects. Performing the “5-5-5 Rule” massage immediately after the procedure helps the PLLA particles disperse more evenly, leading to a more natural-looking result. At our clinic, we provide detailed guidance on post-procedure self-care, so please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the procedure.
The Difference Between Sculptra and Hyaluronic Acid Injections
Both Sculptra and hyaluronic acid injections are injectable cosmetic procedures designed to address facial volume loss and wrinkles, but the main difference lies in when the effects become noticeable.
With hyaluronic acid, the injected substance itself provides volume, so the effects are immediate, but it is absorbed by the body within about 6 months to 2 years. Sculptra, on the other hand, stimulates the body’s own collagen production, so the effects appear relatively gradually; however, the collagen produced is said to support the skin’s structure for approximately 2 to 3 years.
If you're unsure whether to choose Sculptra or hyaluronic acid injections, please feel free to consult with us. After an examination by a physician, we will recommend the treatment method that best suits your needs.
When combined with other beauty treatments, you can achieve a more youthful appearance
In addition to Sculptra treatments, our clinic may recommend the following procedures based on your preferences. Our doctors will determine which procedures are appropriate for you.
・If you want to combine skin care with skin tightening, try the “Alma PrimeX.”
・If you want both firmer skin and a more lifted feel, try “Volnuma.”
・If you’d like to incorporate contour-lifting treatments, try “HIFU/UltraCell Zi”

Treatment Process
TREATMENT FLOWCounseling and Examination
A doctor will carefully examine your skin condition, bone structure, and degree of volume loss. We will discuss your concerns, preferences, allergies, and any medications you are taking to determine whether Sculptra treatment is appropriate for you. We will also provide detailed explanations regarding potential combinations with other treatments, as well as risks and downtime.
Review of Consent Form and Pre-Treatment Preparations
We will ask you to review the consent form, which outlines the treatment details, possible side effects, and precautions. For those concerned about pain, we can provide anesthetic cream, pre-treatment cooling, or a solution mixed with lidocaine (a local anesthetic) based on your preferences. For facial treatments, we may ask you to remove your makeup.
Sculptra Injections
After marking the area, Sculptra is injected. To ensure even distribution, the procedure is performed with the doctor’s careful technique.
Aftercare
Immediately after the procedure, our doctors and staff will perform a massage to promote the even distribution of the PLLA particles. We will explain the method and precautions for self-massage (the 5-5-5 rule) to be performed at home.

Sculptra FAQs
Q&AHow long does it take for Sculpttra to take effect?
Since it takes time for the body to produce its own collagen after a Sculptra injection, although results vary from person to person, you will typically begin to notice changes gradually about 3 to 6 weeks after the procedure. While immediate results may not be expected in some cases, once the collagen has settled, the effects are expected to last for about 2 to 3 years.
Can Sculptra be used under the eyes and on nasolabial folds?
While injections can be administered to nasolabial folds, they are not suitable for the area around the eyes, such as under the eyes. If you are concerned about hollows or wrinkles under your eyes, we will recommend treatments other than Sculptra, so please feel free to consult with us.
Can I receive Sculptra treatment while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We do not offer Sculptra treatments to pregnant or breastfeeding women. Additionally, Sculptra is not available to individuals with autoimmune disorders, keloids, active inflammation or infection at the injection site, those currently taking immunosuppressants, or those with an allergy to any of Sculptra’s ingredients.
Which is better: Sculptra or hyaluronic acid injections?
Which option is better depends on the patient's preferences and medical suitability. Your doctor will determine the details during your consultation, but the following considerations may be helpful as a general guide.
[Patients for Whom Sculptra Is Suitable]
・Those who prefer long-term change over immediate results
・For those who want to add volume and improve their skin's health
[Patients Who Are Suitable Candidates for Hyaluronic Acid Injections]
・For those who want to feel a difference right after the treatment
・For those who want to change their facial contours by adding volume
How do you address the risk of lumps with Sculptra?
To reduce the risk of lumps (subcutaneous nodules), Bianca Clinic strictly adheres to proper dilution concentrations, injection volumes, and injection depths, and provides thorough post-treatment massage instructions (the 5-5-5 Rule: 5 times a day, 5 minutes each, for 5 days). In the unlikely event that a lump does develop, our doctors will provide appropriate treatment and care.
How much of the solution is used in a single Sculptra treatment?
The amount of medication required varies by patient, but as a general guideline, 1 to 2 vials are needed for the entire face, and 10 to 30 vials for the buttocks. We will explain the details during your consultation.
How many times should I get Sculptra injections?
Generally, we recommend about three treatments spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. However, this may vary depending on the degree of volume loss, your goals, and your skin condition.
Can I come in for a Sculptra treatment even if I live outside of Tokyo (such as in Nagoya or other distant locations)?
Yes, we do have patients who travel from far away to visit us. Both the Ginza location of BIANCA Clinic and BIANCA Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Spa (Omotesando location) are easily accessible by various modes of transportation, so we welcome many patients from outside the Tokyo area as well. Since Sculptra treatments may require multiple sessions, please discuss the frequency of your visits with us during your consultation.
