Concerns

About the Eyelids and the Eye Area
Do you have any of these concerns?

These symptoms may be caused by ptosis.

The eyes don't open properly
He looks sleepy.
I suffer from stiff shoulders and headaches

Treatment

What Is the Incisional Ptosis Correction Technique?

This is a surgical procedure in which an incision is made in the skin and the muscles that open the eyes are shortened to make it easier to open the eyes.

This procedure aims to improve symptoms such as drooping upper eyelids that cover the iris, a sleepy appearance, and concerns about the look in one’s eyes.

When ptosis is corrected, headaches, stiff shoulders, and general fatigue are also alleviated.

Reasons for Drooping Eyelids

This is a condition in which the muscle that lifts the eyelid (the levator palpebrae superioris) becomes weak.

Performed using an open surgical technique

At BIANCA CLINIC, we use the levator aponeurosis advancement technique. We make an incision along the double eyelid crease and shorten the levator muscle or aponeurosis.

Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions

We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions we receive during consultations, such as those regarding the healing process, pain, and suture removal.

QIs it possible for things to return to the way they were before the treatment?

This is generally not the case with the incision method.

However, there is still a slight chance that the results could revert if you rub your eyelids during the six months following the procedure.

QHow long does it take for my eyelids to settle down after the procedure?

It takes about six months to fully stabilize.

Severe swelling subsides within one to two weeks and is mostly gone in about a month.

QDoes the treatment hurt?

You may feel some pain when the anesthetic is injected. However, since the anesthetic will be taking effect during the procedure, you are unlikely to feel any pain.

QHow many days after the surgery will the stitches be removed?

This is done one week after the procedure.

QCan I get this treatment even if I have eyelash extensions?

We can perform the treatment, but it may come off during the procedure.

QCan sagging skin above the eyes be corrected with a procedure for ptosis?

While improvement may be possible, depending on the condition of the eyelids, it may be difficult to fully remove the sagging.

QDoes ptosis recur with age?

Changes associated with aging, such as a narrowing of the double eyelid crease due to sagging, may occur.

Depending on the condition of your eyelids, we may consider performing the procedure again.
