About the Gummy Smile
A gummy smile may result from a combination of several factors, such as “gums that appear long” or “an upper lip that tends to curl upward.”

Esthetic crown lengthening
This treatment involves surgically adjusting the position of the gums and the bone that supports the teeth to bring the visible part of the tooth (the crown) to the appropriate length.
We aim to achieve a balanced relationship between the teeth and gums so that your smile looks natural.

- Treatment Area: 10 to 12 teeth, from the upper front teeth to the premolars, arranged in a single curve
- Incision: Made from inside the mouth. A scalpel is used instead of a laser or electrosurgical unit.

This procedure involves removing a portion of the mucous membrane between the upper lip and the gums and then suturing the area to tighten it. The goal is to reduce excessive elevation of the upper lip and create a soft, natural smile in which the gums are less visible.
※Since the procedure is performed through the mouth, no external incision is visible.
- Anesthesia: We apply a topical anesthetic before administering a local anesthetic.
