Hello! I'm a nurse at BIANCA CLINIC ✨

When fall rolls around, do you find yourself worrying about dry skin, dullness, and makeup that doesn't go on smoothly?

"My skin was fine in the summer, but suddenly it's become dry." "No matter how hard I try to moisturize, it still doesn't feel like enough." For skin concerns like these that arise during seasonal changes, aesthetic medicine offers a treatment option called "infusion therapy," which delivers active ingredients deep into the skin.

One such product is “Mesona J (Mesoporation),” which delivers beauty ingredients without the use of needles.

At BIANCA CLINIC, we assess your skin condition and concerns before recommending the appropriate treatments and treatment plans.

In this article, we’ll provide an easy-to-understand explanation of everything from the changes your skin undergoes in the fall to how the treatments work, pricing, and precautions.

Why does my skin get dry in the fall?

In the fall, temperatures and humidity tend to drop compared to summer, making it a season when the skin is prone to losing moisture. Furthermore, the skin may be affected by a combination of the strong UV rays from summer and the drying effects of air conditioning.

The skin's surface has a "barrier function" that protects the skin from external irritants and helps prevent moisture loss. When this function weakens, you're more likely to experience tightness, dryness, and difficulty applying makeup.

First and foremost, basic skincare—such as using moisturizers and sunscreen—is essential. If you’re still concerned about the condition of your skin, you can identify the cause of the dryness and, if necessary, consider cosmetic medical treatments.

What is Mesona J? A treatment that delivers beauty ingredients without using needles

Mesona J is a medical-grade device designed for use in healthcare facilities that utilizes specialized electrical pulses to promote the transdermal absorption of cosmetic ingredients.

Using a technology called “electroporation,” we create temporary pathways through the skin to deliver ingredients that are difficult to deliver through regular topical application.

During the procedure, we use two types of devices: a pen-style device and a roller-style device. Since there is no need to pierce the skin with a needle, this method is a good option even for those who are afraid of injections.

However, the amount of beauty ingredients absorbed and the changes in the skin vary from person to person, and not all ingredients are absorbed in the same way.

How to Choose Skincare Ingredients for Fall Skin Concerns

To combat dryness in the fall, moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid—which help the skin retain moisture—are good options.

Also, if you're concerned about dullness, it's important to determine whether it's caused by dryness or pigmentation. The appropriate care will vary depending on the cause.

Our clinic offers several treatment packages. For example, the "WHITE" package is designed for full-face skin care, while the "SA" package allows you to consider combining additional options.

Since the active ingredients and additional components are selected based on your skin condition and your goals, it is not always necessary to add a large number of ingredients.

The Benefits and Limitations of Mesona J

In introductory treatments, depending on the active ingredients used, improvements in skin hydration, texture, and firmness are expected.

If your skin appears dull due to dryness, moisturizing treatments may improve its appearance. However, since dark spots, melasma, and deep wrinkles have different causes, treatment with moisturizers alone may not produce sufficient results.

While some people are concerned about the radiance they see immediately after a treatment, it’s important to distinguish between temporary changes in hydration and long-term improvements in skin quality.

We believe it is important to consider treatment options not only for conditions where improvement is likely but also for those where improvement is difficult to achieve.

What's the difference between iontophoresis and hydrafacial?

There are several methods for delivering beauty ingredients to the skin.

Iontophoresis is a method that uses an electric current to promote the penetration of primarily charged ingredients. Mesona J, on the other hand, uses electrical pulses and other techniques to expand the range of ingredients that can be introduced.

A hydrafacial is a treatment that uses fine needles to inject a solution directly into the skin. Because needles are used, there is a risk of bruising and swelling.

Since the methods of administration and downtime vary for each treatment, it is not possible to simply compare them in terms of which is better or worse.

Whether you prefer not to use needles or are concerned about dry skin, it’s important to make a choice based on your specific goals and preferences.

How much does Mesona J cost? BIANCA's Treatment Menu

Our standard rates are as follows: WHITE Full Face is 18,900 yen per session, SA Full Face is 20,800 yen, and PINK Full Face + Neck is 31,600 yen. All treatments are private, and prices include tax.

At SA, there are also optional add-ons for medications such as high-concentration glutathione and hyaluronic acid, priced at 2,600 yen per type.

For example, if you add hyaluronic acid to the entire SA face, the total cost is 23,400 yen.

However, additional ingredients aren't always necessary. You can decide on the treatment details while taking your skin concerns and budget into account.

Rates are subject to change, so please check the official rate schedule before making a reservation.

Treatment Process and Duration

For first-time clients, knowing what to expect on the day of their appointment is one way to put their minds at ease.

At our clinic, after you wash your face and remove your makeup, a doctor will examine your skin and provide a consultation to assess its condition.

Before the treatment, please remove any metal accessories that come into contact with your skin. We will then apply beauty-enhancing ingredients and use pen- and roller-type devices to help them penetrate the skin.

The full-face treatment takes about 15 minutes; including preparation and follow-up, the total time is approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.

After the treatment, we’ll soothe your skin with a mask or cream. If there are no issues with your skin’s condition, you can apply makeup the same day.

What about pain, downtime, and side effects?

Although this treatment does not use needles, it is not entirely free of stimulation.

You may experience a slight tingling sensation during the treatment. You may also notice a metallic taste around your mouth or a sensation of light around your eyes.

After the procedure, you may experience redness, dryness, a sensation of heat, itching, swelling, or a rash; you should also be aware of the possibility of allergic reactions to the medications used.

After your treatment, be sure to moisturize and protect your skin from UV rays, and avoid harsh exfoliants, such as scrubs, for about one week.

If redness or itching persists, or if symptoms become severe, please consult the medical facility where you received treatment.

People Who Should Not Receive This Treatment / Things to Check Before Treatment

Mesona J is not a treatment suitable for everyone.

Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those with implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers, those with certain metal implants, and those with allergies to any of the medications used may not be eligible for this treatment.

In addition, people with a history of heart disease or epilepsy, as well as those with skin infections or severe inflammation, should exercise caution.

On the day of your appointment, please wash your face to ensure no makeup remains on your skin. Please also refrain from shaving your face 2–3 days before the treatment and from vigorous facial massages the day before.

To ensure your safety during the procedure, please inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions or medications you are currently taking during your consultation.

For fall skincare, please consult the BIANCA Ginza Clinic.

Dry skin and dullness can be caused by a variety of factors, including not only the seasons but also lifestyle habits, skincare routines, and the condition of the skin.

For this reason, the same treatments and beauty ingredients are not suitable for everyone.

At BIANCA CLINIC, we assess your skin condition and discuss your goals, and based on that, we recommend treatment options or alternative skincare methods as needed.

If you're concerned about dry skin in the fall or are considering a needle-free beauty treatment, please schedule a consultation to discuss your options.

Mesona J treatments are available at our Ginza location.
