Vinyl skin refers to a condition where the stratum corneum becomes excessively thin, causing light to reflect off the skin and making it appear as if vinyl has been applied to the skin.

Even if the skin's surface appears radiant, its internal barrier function is compromised, making it prone to dryness, redness, and stinging.

The main causes are as follows.

Overdoing peels and scrubs
Excessive use of high-concentration retinol products
Friction irritation during cleansing and washing

The stratum corneum acts as your skin's protective shield.
