End Lift is a procedure used on areas such as the abdomen, inner arms, and inner thighs. A thin optical fiber is inserted under the skin, and laser energy is delivered from the inside to reduce fat and tighten the skin.

"I want to lose fat, but I'm also worried about sagging skin."

"Endolift" addresses such body concerns by working from within the skin.

Endolift is a cosmetic procedure that involves inserting a thin optical fiber under the skin to reduce fat and tighten the skin using the heat generated by a laser. It is used not only on the face but also on the abdomen, upper arms, and thighs.

For information on the basic principles of the treatment, see “What Is an End Lift? An Explanation of Its Effects, How It Works, and Its Pros and Cons"We also introduce it here."

What kinds of changes can be expected in which parts of the body?

In this article, BIANCA CLINIC will explain the effects on specific body areas, the relationship to liposuction, and actual research findings.

Where on the body can Endolift be used?

Endolift is primarily used on the abdomen, inner arms, and inner thighs, but it is also applied to areas such as the buttocks and around the knees. When it comes to the body, it’s not just the volume of fat but also skin firmness and sagging that affect one’s silhouette.

Let's take a look at what kind of changes we can expect in each area.

Abdomen and Lower Abdomen | Targeting Fat Deposits and Sagging Skin

The abdomen is an area where people often worry about both the accumulation of subcutaneous fat and sagging skin. In particular, the lower abdomen may experience changes in skin elasticity due to pregnancy, childbirth, or weight fluctuations.

End Lift aims to tighten the skin while promoting localized fat breakdown through the thermal effects of the laser.

However, if there is a significant amount of excess skin,Tammy TackThese are the available options. This surgery involves removing excess skin and fat; if the rectus abdominis muscles are separated, the procedure may also include suturing the tissue surrounding the muscles back together.

Furthermore, if the bulge in your abdomen is caused by visceral fat, procedures such as Endolift or liposuction will not be effective. In that case, you’ll need to reevaluate your lifestyle habits or consider treatments offered by cosmetic medicine clinics, such asMedical Weight LossWe will consider other approaches, such as...

Upper Arms | Targeting Sagging and Fat on the Inner Side

"I'm concerned about the fat on my upper arms, but I'm worried my skin might start to sag."

For people like that, the fact that it targets both fat and skin is one of the distinctive features of Endolift.

For the upper arms, this treatment is primarily used to address fat on the inner side and sagging skin. It aims to refine the contours of the upper arms through the laser’s effect on fat and its skin-tightening properties.

In fact, there have been studies reporting on changes in upper arm circumference [1]. I’ll present the detailed results later.

Thighs | Targeting inner thigh bulges and localized fat

When it comes to the thighs, the inner thighs are primarily targeted for Endolift treatments. The inner thighs are an area where, in addition to localized fat deposits, sagging skin can also be a concern.

Endolift aims to sculpt the body's contours through localized fat reduction and skin tightening.

It is also sometimes used on areas such as the buttocks and around the knees.

Since the scope of treatment and the expected results vary depending on the amount of fat and the condition of the skin, this procedure should be considered separately from treatments aimed at significantly reducing the size of the entire thigh.

Can liposuction be performed during a body endolift?

Whether or not liposuction is performed during an endolift depends on the procedure you choose.

For example, EndoliftX® uses the thermal effects of a laser to promote fat breakdown; it does not directly suction out fat.

On the other hand, with EndoliftXs, in addition to the laser treatment, it is also possible to remove excess fat through liposuction.

In other words, there are two approaches: one that uses lasers to reduce fat, and another that combines laser treatment with liposuction.

For areas such as the abdomen and thighs, the appropriate approach varies depending on the amount of fat and the desired volume. If liposuction is involved, you’ll also need to consider the physical strain on your body and the associated downtime.

What research findings are there regarding EndoLift treatments for the abdomen and upper arms?

Regarding body end lifts, studies have been published that examined actual changes in body measurements following the procedure.

In 2023, a study was published examining the effects of Endolift on 10 participants with excess fat on their upper arms and lower abdomen [1]. At the 3-month follow-up, it was reported that 8 out of the 10 participants experienced a reduction of approximately 2 cm in upper arm circumference and approximately 3 cm in lower abdominal circumference.

These results suggest that the laser’s effects on fat and skin tightening may lead to actual changes in body contours. However, the measurements were of circumference and do not directly represent the amount of fat lost.

Another point worth noting is a study on abdominal skin tissue published in 2025 [2]. In this study, researchers examined abdominal skin under various laser irradiation conditions and confirmed an increase in dermal thickness and collagen levels in areas treated with an appropriate amount of thermal energy.

In other words, it’s not necessarily true that the hotter the laser, the better; rather, it’s believed that delivering the heat appropriately is what leads to skin tightening.

This is something you should know before undergoing an end lift.

Are the physician's knowledge and design skills important for a body end lift?

With Endolift, the laser must be applied according to the treatment area, the thickness of the fat, and the condition of the skin. For example, even on the same abdomen, the condition of the tissue differs between areas with thick subcutaneous fat and areas where skin laxity is the primary concern.

Where and in what amount should thermal energy be delivered? To achieve this, in addition to anatomical knowledge and the physician’s technical skills, it is also important to design the treatment area based on the desired body contour.

In addition, an endolift is a procedure designed to reduce localized fat and tighten the skin; its purpose differs from that of a diet intended to result in significant weight loss.

Even with procedures that do not involve large incisions, swelling, pain, and bruising may still occur, and there are also risks such as burns, infection, and uneven skin texture.

You’ll want to discuss with your doctor how much you want to change the areas you’re concerned about and what kind of results you can expect from the procedure, including your vision for the final outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions About Body End Lifts

We’ll answer questions from people considering an endolift for body contouring or weight loss.

Q1. How much belly fat can be reduced with an endolift?

The extent of the reduction varies depending on body fat levels and the treatment method used. While there are research reports indicating a reduction in lower abdominal circumference, the actual size changes that can be expected vary from person to person, so it is necessary to have your condition assessed during a consultation.

Q2. Is the End Lift effective for visceral fat in the abdomen?

The EndoLift primarily targets the subcutaneous fat located beneath the skin. It is not a procedure designed to reduce visceral fat, which accumulates inside the abdomen.

Q3. Is EndoLift effective against cellulite on the thighs?

While skin tightening may change your appearance, its effectiveness against cellulite itself has not been sufficiently established.

At Bianca Clinic, we offer a treatment that combines ultrasound and radiofrequency to address cellulite and sagging skin, called “Alma Prime X"We also offer this treatment." We will determine the most appropriate treatment based on the contours of your thighs and the condition of the fat.

Q4. Can I expect changes like those shown in the before-and-after photos from a body end lift?

You can expect changes in your body contours due to fat reduction and skin tightening. However, the results may not necessarily match the before-and-after photos shown for areas such as the thighs or upper arms.

Since results vary depending on body fat levels, skin condition, and the treatment method used, please consult with your doctor to discuss the changes you can expect, using before-and-after photos as a reference.

Q5. Can End Lift be used on the entire body?

In addition to the abdomen, upper arms, and inner thighs, it is also used on the buttocks and around the knees.

However, the treatment cannot be applied uniformly to every part of the body; its suitability varies depending on the equipment used, the treatment method, and the patient’s physical condition.
